To Do List - 2015

In January I decided to make myself a little to do list rather than resolutions. These included some recreational activities as well as life goals. I didn't manage to cross them all off but I did get some done.  I'm going to carry over the ones I didn't manage to 2015 and add a few new ones too.

So here's a quick recap of the things I did manage to cross off.

No 4:
I got a new job! This was the most important one on the list for me. I applied for lots of jobs and nothing was coming of them. I knew my only real option was to go back self employed but that scared me now we have Luca. I eventually took the plunge in September and I am so glad I did. I am back doing a job I love and have lots of job satisfaction now.

No 5:
We have managed to save some money for a deposit to buy a house. Not quite enough yet, as usual once we get some headway something happens meaning we have to dip into it but we are getting there much faster than we were before.

No 8:
We have also made time to have some regular date nights too. We have had a few months where we haven't managed it but overall we have been spending more time as a couple. Recently though we really seem to have upped our game and our last two date nights were amazing.
First Ant surprised me to a night watching Dirty Dancing at the theatre.

Then I surprised him with tickets to a small Pigeon Detectives acoustic gig.

He's gonna have to really do some planning to beat that night!  This is something that we will definitely be carrying on now. It's something we both really look forward to each month. January is Ant's month so I'm looking forward to seeing what he comes up with, even if it's just a bite to eat or a trip to the cinema. I've already got my thinking cap on too for February.

No 9:
I visited the 1940's weekend in Haworth. It was so so busy, will be going without Luca next time as it was just too busy for him to enjoy anything.  It got me hooked though and I would love to go again this year so I can immerse myself in the atmosphere fully.

The other things on the list will roll over to this year, so here is my new to do list for 2015!

1: Visit Harry Potter studio tour.
I'm still a huge HP geek and would still love to go.

2: Learn to snowboard
Again this is one I didn't manage this year. Think I'll leave some massive hints around for lessons for my birthday.

3: Have a surfing lesson
Another roll over, got to get some friends together for this one to make sure it happens.

4: Finish Luca's patchwork quilt.
I started this ages ago and still haven't finished it. I got to a tough bit and kind of gave up. I'm determined to have it finished this year though.

5: Save enough money to put a deposit down on a house.
We are about half way to our goal amount so hopefully by the end of 2015 we will be looking for our first house.

6: Go on a family holiday.
Didn't quite make it this year. We decided to save the money instead to try tick off our other goal to save a deposit. We did get away a few times though but I would love some sun.

7: Celebrate our 2nd anniversary at our wedding venue
I left it too late last year to book anything for our wedding venue so I must be more organised this year.

8: Apply for my Doctorate
This scares me a little bit. My super friend Ashleigh, applied for hers this year (and I have everything crossed for her) but I am nowhere near ready for it yet. Just the application alone terrifies me. I'm hoping though that by the time that the application window opens again I'll be in the right place to think about applying.

9: Blog more
I love blogging. I'm never gonna be a professional blogger, I just don't have the time to be, but this little blog is my space to write about and record whatever I want to.  Hopefully for us to look back on as a family in many years to come.  I suppose it's more of a scrapbook or diary of things I don't want to forget.  Last year there were so many posts I would love to have written and recorded. I may still even do them despite them being months late so they are there, for our record and recollection. This year I am going to try so much harder to blog more and make sure all the things I want to blog about get done.  I just need to be a bit more organised.

10: Do more yoga
Last year No.10 on my to do list was take some time for me.  That never really happened so I'm going to try and be a bit more specific this year.  I started doing more yoga recently after being inspired by Zaz from Mama & More but got so busy that it's slowly faded out of my life again. I love yoga so really do need to make/find time for it more regularly.

So that's it. Not too many as I don't like to set myself up to fail and I think having just a few will help me actually make progress and achieve some of them like I did last year.  After all these aren't resolutions just a few to do's for 2015.

    1. I agree, I'm all for making the most of every minute especially nowadays when time seems to fly and if I don't have set out what I want to do each year I tend to not do much. So here's hoping 2015 will be full of things to cross of my list! Xxx

  7. You are so right not to set too many goals as u think it feels more pressured. Our date nights sound fantastic and as for the doctorate - do it when you really do feel ready, no matter what year that is!! Thanks for linking to #AllAboutYou hon xx

Ps - try out the 8-minute yoga session I posted recently, it's an easy start to some you time!! Xx
