Autumn

When Spring came around I wrote a little guest post over on the lovely Rachel's blog, Three Years & Home about my love for the season. Every word of that post still rings true, I do love spring, but as I said in that post I love all seasons equally really.  Since the weather has turned though it's made me realise just how much I love Autumn.

I love that as the season turns colder I no longer have to worry about getting cold during Summer, yes you heard me. Unless it's boiling hot without a breeze in sight I have to have a cardigan with me, I'm such a wuss.  With the cold weather though I always know what to wear, lots of layers.  Apart from the clothing aspect of Autumn, there are many, many more things I love.

I love the colours of autumn, the fallen leaves and the bare trees, the animals getting ready for the winter, autumn sunsets, conkers and acorns, Halloween, bonfire night, wearing my poppy with pride, Remembrance Sunday and the excitement in the lead up to Christmas (yes, I said the C word).

This year Luca is old enough to really appreciate Autumn, he's been to his first ever bonfire and seen fireworks, he went trick or treating and when we for a walk at Temple Newsam with my very good friend Steph (who blogs here about all things mental health & psychology related), he loved playing in the leaves, kicking them, throwing handfuls in the air and he discovered puddles!

Hopefully there will be much more for him to discover in the remainder of this beautiful changing season but even if not it's been a good one for us already and I know there is much, much more to come in Winter for him to discover and enjoy.  Until then we will be filling the last of our Autumn days with wrapped up walks in the fresh crisp air, followed by mugs of hot chocolate and deliciously warming comfort food.

So to all of you, I hope you have had as awesome an Autumn as we have so far!
