Last weekend we took a family trip to Kirkhamgate just down the road from my house for the annual scarecrow trail. We have never been to this particular one before and it did not disappoint.
With 53 different scarecrows scattered around the village to find we spent a good few hours wandering the streets and guessing which ones were which.
The theme for the year was Films and each scarecrow came with it's own clue just in case you couldn't guess it. There were only a two we didn't know. One we eventually worked out but the other we still can't get. Any guesses?
Luca really enjoyed spotting ones that he recognised like this Monsters Inc one and others he didn't particularly know but looked appealing.
The majority of the scarecrows were really good but some were outstanding.
These were our favourites:
Toy Story
Hogwarts
Happy Feet
There was also a brilliant Despicable Me arrangement with about 10 little minions and a Gru, unfortunately I didn't get a photo of that one as Luca had fallen asleep in my arms, the excitement was just too much.
We had a lot of fun and it took me right back to my childhood days when my parents would take me and my brothers to Well for the scarecrow festival there. I think this will definitely become a yearly tradition for us.
Have you ever been on a scarecrow trail before? Which ones are the best you've been to?

I do love a good scarecrow trail, I've promised my little boy we can make a scarecrow this year! Lots of effort has been put into making these, really love the penguins.

The penguin one was really good. Lots of them must have taken quite a while to construct we were really impressed. X
DeleteI'd never heard of a scarecrow trail before - it looks great. Will have to find some near me!!
ReplyDeleteThey are so much fun, you really should find one.
DeleteOh my those are some amazing scarecrows and so easy to spot. We do village scarecrows at carnival season in the summer but these would all win in our village! Thank you for sharing with me on Country Kids
